America's musical traditions, drawn from all the cultures that have contributed to the development of American society, are one of the most important factors that bind us together as a nation.
Founded in 1978, The Charleston Concert Band is comprised of members of the community from all walks of life who love to play and to perform for our community. Some are professional musicians, many are teachers, and others are those who desire to continue playing after finishing their formal education.
The band plays at least eight concerts annually for varied audiences and community events. Our repertoire includes marches by Sousa, Fillmore, King, and others; Broadway show tunes; patriotic music; adaptations of symphonic works by composers from Mozart to Bernstein; as well as special works for band by American, Latin American, and European composers.
