Now Welcoming New Members (by Audition)

An audition is required to become a CCB member. The audition consists of a two-octave chromatic scale and a required audition etude(s) (the etude(s) will be supplied to you). After you submit your application, you will receive the audition solo and instructions on recording and submitting your audition.

An audition is required to become a member of the Charleston Concert Band (CCB). The audition consists of a two-octave chromatic scale and a required audition etude, which will be provided to you. After you submit your application (below), you will receive the audition etude(s) and instructions on how to record and submit your audition.

Currently, there are limited openings in the band. However, due to the voluntary nature of this organization, chairs in each section may become available over the course of the season. We encourage you to audition for the CCB. If you are accepted, you will be placed on our reserve list. Reserve players agree to be “on call” as replacement players should an opening occur.

Please fill out the form below to apply to join the band. You will be sent the audition materials, and if accepted, you will be notified if a chair in your section becomes available.

Time Commitment

All members must commit to attending weekly rehearsals. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and start promptly at 7:00 pm and end at 9:00. We rehearse at Charleston County School of the Arts in North Charleston, SC. Other rehearsals, such as dress rehearsals and sectionals, may be scheduled as needed.

All members are expected to practice as necessary to learn assigned parts.
